Hi, I’m Maree and I'm thrilled to be sewing for Greyhounds as Pets, collaborating with the amazing Chrisi to bring innovative clothing to our beloved greyhounds.
I’m living the dream, creating attire for all dogs, big or small and I hope my passion shines through in every stitch.
My hobby Lil paws, allows me to craft clothing for tiny dogs and pets, inspired by my own furry friend, Chloe, who sparked this journey.
It all started when Chloe, who is a Shih-tzu/ bichon, got a haircut and turned into an ice cube, especially in Winter, so I grabbed my trusty knitting needles and cranked out some jerseys and coats and let’s just say I got a bit carried away and made enough to open a store.
Chloe has mastered the art of doing absolutely nothing on the couch, yet somehow still manages to keep tabs on my every movement.
Chaos, my other dog, is a standard fox terrier, who’s obsessed with sniffing out adventure, his long legs and superpowered snout make him look like a bunny-roo hybrid, bouncing through the tall grass like a lunatic to see what kind of trouble he can get into.
I take pleasure in crafting tiny harnesses for various pets, including chickens, cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs for school pet days and for all the tiny dogs that are too small for standard harnesses.
I have been privileged to receive requests to create bespoke costumes for dogs, including party dresses for celebratory events and costumes for dog shows and fashion presentations.
Noteworthy examples include a Bassett Hound attired as an Inspector and a Chinese Crest costumed as Cleopatra.The most sought after items however, are bellybands and britches for bitches.
My greatest enjoyment in this hobby stems from observing the reactions to my creations, seeing them worn and forming close bonds with like-minded people.
I provide assistance to our Aunt and Uncle in caring for 20 greyhounds, thereby acquiring knowledge about the upkeep and training of racing dogs.
These greyhounds are such loving goofballs, full of unique personalities- from the adorable cuddle worms who hog all the snuggles to the divas who demand attention and all the in-between ones.
That’s me, for better or worse! I’m stoked about my work and hope you enjoyed this brief peek into my world.
